Independence day of India “jai hindi 🇮🇳🇮🇳

On 26 January 2026, India proudly celebrates its 77th Republic Day with immense fervor and national pride, marking the historic day when the Constitution came into effect in 1950, establishing the nation as a sovereign democratic republic. This year’s grand parade at Kartavya Path in New Delhi revolves around the poignant theme of “150 Years of Vande Mataram,” honoring the timeless national song that ignited the spirit of freedom during the independence struggle and continues to echo as a mantra of unity and self-reliance. The morning began with Prime Minister Narendra Modi paying heartfelt tributes by laying a wreath at the National War Memorial, honoring the brave martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country. President Droupadi Murmu unfurled the national flag amid a thunderous 21-gun salute, joined by chief guests Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, and António Costa, President of the European Council, symbolizing strengthened Indo-European ties. The approximately 90-minute spectacle showcased India’s military might through marching contingents, indigenous weapon systems, and a phased battle array, while 30 vibrant tableaux—17 from states and Union Territories and 13 from ministries—depicted cultural diversity, developmental milestones, and the enduring legacy of Vande Mataram through art, music, and regional narratives. Around 2,500 cultural artists performed soul-stirring renditions under themes like “स्वतंत्रता का मंत्र – वंदे मातरम” and “समृद्धि का मंत्र – आत्मनिर्भर भारत,” blending tradition with modern aspirations for a Viksit Bharat. From schoolchildren waving flags in small towns like Sanāwad to millions watching live across the country, the day reaffirms the unbreakable resolve of “We, the People” to uphold justice, liberty, equality, and fraternity in the world’s largest democracy. Jai Hind! 🇮🇳
